Q. How does SpeedAlert™ work in tunnels? I thought that GPS receivers required direct line of sight with the satellite to work?
A. SpeedAlert™ advises you that you are entering a tunnel; it tells you the prevailing speed limit as well as Speed Cameras and Bus Lane Camera. Because there is no GPS signal inside the tunnel, SpeedAlert™ is unable to warn you if you are exceeding the speed limit. SpeedAlert™ will pick up a GPS signal and resume normal operations once you have exited the tunnel.
